Author Guidelines
Authors intending to submit manuscripts to the Emperor Journal of Commerce (EJC) are requested to follow the guidelines given below. The guidelines are intended to ensure consistency, academic quality, ethical standards, and efficient peer review and publication.
1. Types of Manuscripts
The journal welcomes the following categories of scholarly contributions:

Interdisciplinary Research Papers
Manuscripts should make a clear and meaningful contribution to knowledge in Commerce, Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or related disciplines.
2. Originality of the Manuscript
Manuscripts submitted to EJC must be original and unpublished. The manuscript should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication in another journal.
Authors should ensure that all sources, ideas, data, quotations, and materials obtained from other works are appropriately acknowledged and referenced.
3. Research Ethics and Academic Integrity
Authors are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic and research integrity. Manuscripts involving primary data should follow appropriate ethical research practices, including informed participation and confidentiality of respondents wherever applicable.
Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, manipulation of data, and other forms of academic misconduct are not acceptable.
Where applicable, authors should disclose:
Ethical approval or institutional permission
Sources of research funding
Conflicts of interest
Use of third-party data or materials
Any other relevant disclosures
4. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be prepared clearly and professionally using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
Recommended formatting:
Paper size: A4
Font: Times New Roman
Font size: 12 points
Line spacing: Double spacing
Text alignment: Justified
Margins: Standard margins
Page numbering: Consecutive page numbers
Manuscripts should normally contain approximately 3,500–5,000 words, excluding references and supplementary material, unless otherwise specified by the editorial office.
Authors should maintain consistency in headings, tables, figures, references, abbreviations, and terminology throughout the manuscript.
5. Title Page
The title page should contain:
Full title of the manuscript
Full name(s) of the author(s)
Institutional affiliation(s)
Department and institution
City, State, and Country
Email address of the corresponding author
ORCID iD, where available
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
6. Abstract
Each research article should include an abstract of approximately 150–250 words.
The abstract should briefly present:
Background or research context
Research objective
Methodology
Major findings
Key implications or conclusion
The abstract should be understandable independently of the main article and should not contain unnecessary citations or extensive abbreviations.
7. Keywords
Authors should provide 3–5 keywords immediately below the abstract. Keywords should accurately represent the major concepts, variables, methods, or subject areas addressed in the manuscript.
8. Recommended Structure of Research Articles
Empirical research papers may generally follow the structure below:
Introduction
Review of Literature
Research Gap
Objectives of the Study
Hypotheses or Research Questions
Research Methodology
Data Analysis and Results
Discussion
Findings
Implications
Conclusion
Limitations and Scope for Further Research
References
The structure may be modified according to the nature and methodology of the research.
9. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be:
Numbered consecutively.
Provided with clear and descriptive titles.
Referred to in the main text.
Presented in a readable format.
Appropriately sourced where external data or material is used.
Authors should avoid unnecessary duplication of information between tables, figures, and the main text.
10. Statistical and Empirical Analysis
Where quantitative methods are used, authors should clearly describe:
Population and sample
Sampling method
Data collection procedures
Variables and measurement scales
Statistical techniques
Model specifications, where applicable
Significance levels
Reliability and validity measures
Assumptions and diagnostic tests where relevant
Statistical findings should be reported accurately and interpreted without overstating causality or generalisability.
11. References and Citations
All sources cited in the manuscript should appear in the reference list, and every reference listed should be cited in the manuscript.
Authors are encouraged to follow APA referencing style consistently. References should contain sufficient bibliographic information to enable readers to locate the source.
Authors should verify the accuracy of:
Author names
Publication year
Article or book title
Journal title
Volume and issue
Page numbers
DOI or URL, where applicable
12. Plagiarism and Similarity
Manuscripts should be original and free from unacceptable levels of textual similarity. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work does not contain plagiarism or improperly reproduced material.
Where material from another source is used, it must be appropriately quoted, paraphrased, and cited.
The editorial office may conduct a similarity/plagiarism check before or during the review process.
13. Peer Review
Submitted manuscripts are subject to an editorial screening process followed, where appropriate, by peer review. Manuscripts may be evaluated for:
Originality
Relevance to the journal's scope
Research quality
Methodological soundness
Clarity of presentation
Contribution to existing knowledge
Ethical compliance
The final publication decision rests with the editorial team based on the review process and editorial assessment.
14. Revision of Manuscripts
Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial or reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts should address the comments carefully and provide appropriate explanations for substantive changes.
Where requested, authors should submit a response indicating how each major reviewer comment has been addressed.
15. Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research and who approve the final manuscript.
All listed authors should agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript. Any changes to authorship after submission should be communicated to and approved by the editorial office.
16. Conflict of Interest
Authors should disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.
If no conflict exists, authors may state:
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.”
17. Funding Statement
Authors should disclose the source of financial support for the research, where applicable.
If the research received no specific funding, an appropriate statement may be included indicating that no external funding was received.
18. Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to provide an appropriate data availability statement where possible. Where research data cannot be publicly shared because of confidentiality, privacy, institutional restrictions, or other legitimate reasons, the authors should state the applicable limitation.
19. Copyright and Publication Rights
Authors should ensure that they have the necessary rights and permissions for all copyrighted material included in the manuscript.
Upon acceptance, authors may be required to comply with the journal's applicable publication and copyright policies.
20. Submission Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:
The manuscript falls within the scope of EJC.
The manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere.
The title is clear and appropriate.
Author details and affiliations are complete.
An abstract is included.
Keywords are provided.
Tables and figures are numbered and cited in the text.
Statistical analyses are appropriately reported.
All sources are properly cited.
The reference list is complete and consistent.
Plagiarism/similarity requirements have been considered.
Conflict-of-interest and funding disclosures are provided where applicable.
Ethical requirements have been addressed where applicable.
The manuscript has been carefully proofread before submission.
21. Editorial Decision
The editorial office reserves the right to make an initial assessment of submitted manuscripts and to decline manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet the journal's basic academic and ethical requirements.
Acceptance for publication is based on the editorial and peer-review process. Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, ethical integrity, and academic quality of their submitted work.
