Covid-19 an Epidemic to Pandemic and Steps Taken by China to Hold the Spread of SARS-CoV-2

Abstract
The World Health Organization’s (WHO) on December 31, 2019, China office heard the first outburst of the unprecedented virus leading to several pneumonia cases in Wuhan city of Eastern China with a population amassing over 11 million. An outbreak once limited to China has now become a truly global pandemic affecting more than 196 nations. As of March 31, 2020, there have been over 788,039 confirmed cases and 37,877 deaths and it is still growing according to the John Hopkins University COVID-19 dashboard, which collects details from national and international health authorities. Italy, the US, and Spain has suffered from maximum wrath whereas countries like India and U.K have gone on a lockdown period to flatten the curve. The epicenter of this disease, China took various steps to bring down the number of cases affected by it and thus trying to return life to normal.
