The characteristics of the contemporary workplace have given rise to various strategic problems in organizations including employee retention due to the increment in the mobility of workforce, enhanced rivalry and evolving employee expectations. Turnover rates that are high coupled with the rising cost of recruitment and training also disrupt the workflow, reduces the productivity, and harms the morale of the organization negatively. This study will explore how employee engagement is multidimensional with emotional, cognitive and behavioral engagement and directing to retention. The paper addresses the most important engagement drivers including leadership style, effectiveness of communication, reward and recognition system, career development prospects and work-life balance. This study will establish the relationship between the level of engagement and the willingness to remain in a company by the employees through the primary and secondary data analysis
