Factors Influencing Employee Attrition Among The Sales Force In Non-Banking Financial Companies: A Study In Chennai City

Issue Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the factors contributing to employee attrition among the sales force working in non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in Chennai City. The research utilized both primary and secondary data, with primary data collected through structured questionnaires administered to sales force employees and secondary data obtained from research articles, journals, magazines, newspapers, and published dissertations. A purposive sampling technique was adopted, and 400 questionnaires were distributed, of which 382 were returned. After excluding 11 incomplete responses, 371 valid questionnaires were used for analysis. The findings reveal that six key factors—nature of work, stringent HR policies, rude behaviour, economic factors, influence of colleagues, and availability of better employment opportunities—significantly contribute to employee attrition among the sales force in NBFCs. The study further indicates that both male and female employees share similar perceptions regarding the factors influencing employee attrition in the study area.
