Combustion Method for Synthesis of Nanoparticles

  • Abstract

Combustion synthesis has emerged as promising route for synthesis of variety of oxide, metals, alloys and sulphide nanoparticles in nanocrystalline form. The starting materials for this process are precursor and fuel. A stoichiometric amount of precursor and fuel is usually mixed to generate self-propagating exothermic reaction which allows the formation of finer nanoparticles. This technique can also help in controlling size of nanoparticles, composition, structure, and morphology of synthesized nanoparticles by adjusting the choice of precursor arterial and type of fuel. This technique results in formation of nanoparticles which are used for different applicationsin the different areas. More precisely, an application of synthesis involves various opto-electronic devices, to store energy, andbiological, and magnetic applications.

The virus is affecting primarily the respiratory system of humans and is spreading through the droplets of the infected human which comes out while sneezing or coughing. The incubation period which can be considered as the time period between infection and development of symptoms is considered as 2-14 days by WHO however it may vary from person to person and in few cases is known till 29 days also.1 Nothing much is known about this new virus and till now no treatment is available to cure the disease caused by Novel Coronavirus 2019 in humans.

Origin of Pseudo Gap in High-TC and Iron Based Superconductors

  • Abstract

Many high-Tc superconductors, Iron based superconductors and other recently discovered superconducting materials shows the signature of existence of a strange Pseudo Gap above the superconducting transition temperature. Various experimental techniques such as NMR, Tunneling and ARPES suggest that pseudo gap does not change with temperature. As evidenced from these experimental results, the Pseudo gap possess the d-wave pairing symmetry similar to superconducting energy gap. The physical properties shows unusual behavior in the non-superconducting state where pseudo gap exist. Based on experimental evidences we argue about the origin of pseudo gap in these superconductors. Although a complete understanding of mechanism is lacking, the existence of preformed cooper indicated by various experimental probes pairs seems to be responsible for the origin of Pseudo gap.

Global Respiratory illness outbreak COVID-19: An overview

  • Abstract

Global Respiratory illness outbreak COVID-19 is a new public health crisis threatening humanity across the globe with the emergence and spread from central China in late 2019. The virus originated around Wuhan, Hubei province, China in December 2019 in bats and was transmitted through unknown intermediary sources to humans. The clinical presentation of viral infection ranges from asymptomatic to severe pneumonia with acute pulmonary distress syndrome is designated as COVID-19. WHO has characterized the disease as a pandemic due to its severity, as well as the shifting of epidemic zones across the globe from epicentre zone, China through a different stage of transmission by contact or inhalation with infected droplets and the incubation period, varies between 2 - 14 days. Treatment is essentially supportive; the effective role of antiviral agents is yet to be established and secondly without knowing the entire genome sequence of COVID- 19, no drug or vaccine can be effectively administered. Prevention entails home isolation of suspected cases and those with mild illnesses and strict infection control measures at hospitals that include contact and droplet precautions. The highest risk of healthcare-associated transmission is in the absence of standard precautions, when basic infection prevention and control measures for respiratory infections are not in place, and when handling patients where COVID infection is yet to be confirmed. The pandemic acceleration of COVID-19 indicates that the initial sporadic spreading worst hit the epicentre, China. But later on, epidemic zone shifts to nearly all continents.
