Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most significant technological developments influencing the financial sector. Financial institutions, investors, businesses and individual consumers are increasingly using AI to analyse large volumes of data, assess creditworthiness, detect fraud, forecast markets, manage investments and support financial decisions. The ability of AI systems to process information rapidly and identify complex patterns creates opportunities for improved efficiency, personalisation, financial inclusion and risk management. At the same time, the increasing use of AI creates concerns relating to data privacy, algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, cybersecurity, inaccurate outputs, over-reliance on automation and systemic financial risks. This paper examines the major opportunities and risks associated with AI in financial decision-making and discusses measures for its responsible adoption.
